U.S. President Donald Trump says he is no longer a New York resident.

The New York Times first reported the story, and Trump confirmed it in a series of Tweets late Thursday, saying he has decided to make Palm Beach, Florida, his permanent residence.

Hundreds of firefighters struggled to contain wind-fueled wildfires Tuesday in the western U.S. state of California ahead of stronger wind gusts expected later in the day.

The most recent fire  broke out Monday near the Getty Museum on the west side of Los Angeles and has since grown to more than 250 hectares, burning down at least eight homes. The area is where some of the city's most expensive houses are located and the fire forced thousands to evacuate.

Former President Jimmy Carter has been hospitalized after falling in his home Monday night in Plains, Georgia.

The Carter Center said the 95-year-old was admitted to Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in nearby Americus, Georgia, “for observation and treatment of a minor pelvic fracture.”

WASHINGTON - Three U.S. soldiers were killed and three others injured in the state of Georgia Sunday in an accident involving the armored combat vehicle they were in, the military said in a statement.

Thirty years goes pretty fast. Thirty years ago, it was the fall of 1989, believe it or not -- it seems like yesterday.

And at the time, if you can remember that far back, America seemed unbeatable. Our chief rival, the Soviet Union had just collapsed. Our economy and military strength dwarfed those of every nation on the planet. America in 1989 was the uncontested leader of the world -- free and otherwise.

NEW YORK - Jane Fonda was arrested at the U.S. Capitol Friday while peacefully protesting climate change.

The actress and activist was handcuffed on the east side steps and escorted into a police vehicle. Video of the arrest circulated online.

ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA - Melania Trump is calling on companies to stop marketing e-cigarettes to children, saying they're addictive and dangerous.

The first lady - who has a 13-year-old son, Barron - says teenagers and young adults must be encouraged to admit addiction, including to electronic cigarettes and vaping - and get help.

In June, Canada labeled the white supremacist group Blood & Honor and its armed branch, Combat 18, as terrorist organizations.

In announcing the move, Canada's public safety department said Blood & Honor derives its ideology from "the National Socialist doctrine of Nazi Germany" and, through Combat 18, has carried out murders and bombings.

Dozens of state attorneys general are set to formally launch separate antitrust probes starting next week into Facebook and Alphabet's Google unit, according to The Wall Street Journal, citing people familiar with the matter.

The Google probe is expected to be announced Monday at a news conference outside the U.S. Supreme Court, according to the Journal.

The investigation, led by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, along with a bipartisan group of about three dozen state attorneys general, will examine Google's impact on digital advertising markets, focusing on potentially harmful information provided to consumers and ad choices.
