President Trump is moving to cut investment ties between U.S. federal retirement funds and Chinese equities, FOX Business has learned in a move that is tied to the handling of COVID 19.

In the first letter written Monday, obtained exclusively by FOX Business, national security adviser Robert O’Brien and National Economic Council Chair Larry Kudlow write to U.S. Labor Secretary Eugene Scalia stating that the White House does not want the Thrift Savings Plan, which is a federal employee retirement fund, to have money invested in Chinese equities.

"This stunning operation was not just a typical battle between political foes, nor merely an example of media bias against political enemies. Instead, this entire operation was a deliberate and direct attack on the foundation of American governance. In light of the newly declassified documents released in recent days, it is clear that understanding what happened in that January 5 Oval Office meeting is essential to understanding the full scope and breadth of the corrupt operation against the Trump administration."

Susan Rice's bizarre Inauguration Day email about that meeting helps explain the campaign of leaks, lies, and obstruction that followed.

WASHINGTON - An executive order issued last week proposes to “monitor and replace” any U.S. power grid equipment made by the nation’s foreign adversaries.

Analysts said it would mainly affect Chinese-made products like electrical transformers.

President Donald Trump signed an executive order on May 1 prohibiting bulk power system equipment from foreign companies in the U.S. grid, citing security concerns.

The Justice Department on Thursday moved to drop the charges in its long-running criminal case against President Donald Trump's former national security adviser Michael Flynn, ending one of the most politically charged and controversial cases stemming from the now-closed investigation of Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential campaign.

"The government has determined … that continued prosecution of this case would not serve the interests of justice," U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Timothy Shea, a Trump appointee, wrote in a 20-page court filing that read like an indictment of the government's previous case against Flynn.

The pace of claims for unemployment compensation slowed marginally in the U.S. last week, but another 3.2 million still filed for the benefits as the coronavirus pandemic continues to wreak havoc on the world’s largest economy.

In all, 33.5 million U.S. workers have now filed for jobless compensation since the pandemic shut huge sectors of American commerce starting in mid-March, according to the Labor Department, including factories, shops, restaurants, white-collar offices and sports leagues.

During an exclusive interview with Fox News on Wednesday, Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., promised to discover the truth behind the origins of the novel coronavirus and to hold China and the World Health Organization (WHO) accountable for their mishandling of the outbreak.

Scott, who serves on the Senate's Homeland Security Committee, discussed the congressional probe he will be leading and pledged to come up with answers that will help guide governmental decisionmaking long into the future.

The New York Times on Saturday called for the Democratic National Committee to investigate the sexual assault claims against presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden -- a day after he denied the allegations for the first time.

“As is so often the case in such situations, it is all but impossible to be certain of the truth. But the stakes are too high to let the matter fester — or leave it to be investigated by and adjudicated in the media. Mr. Biden is seeking the nation’s highest office,” a column by the Times’ Editorial Board said.

Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley reacted to unsealed documents related to the investigation of retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, calling it “shameful.”

“There is so much to unpack with the new info on Gen. Flynn,” Haley tweeted. “The most upsetting is how calculated it was. Letting Gen. Flynn off is not enough. People need to pay for this and the FBI needs to answer to how the public can have confidence that it will never happen again. Shameful.”
